Safelights

The lamp housing is the part that hods the bulb and the filter and keeps the white light emitted from the bulb escaping. The safelight filter absorbs light of some of the colors and transmits lights of various degrees. The bulb wattage is dependent on various factors such as filter illumination and lamp housing and the distance the safelight is from where all the material is going to be. Safelight filters tend to fade with use. This means they transmit more and more lights of colors than they absorb and should be replaced often. Safelight bulbs also fade in time and should be replaced at certain times. People don't understand that they need to do these things to keep safelights working properly. You want to make sure you follow the recommended wattage and the distance as not to effect the photographic material. Safelights are used to make sure you have enough light but not to much as to effect the production of the photo process. Many times people don't realize this and the product that they produce isn't the same quality as they had hoped for because they haven't used proper safelights.

More and more people are going to homemade safelights as they think that they can do a better job and they usually do more harm then they do good. People sometimes think they can do it better and it usually never works out. Safelights are needed to give just enough light and never than more than is need. The more light that is given out the more damage to your photos are possible. Safelights are used and many people are finding out that they need to use these properly or face some bad products that come from that. Safelights also need to be located in certain areas of the darkroom as to keep people from running their product line. safelights are going to continue to be used as long as their still are darkrooms. The best things about safelights is they can help you produce a better product. On the other hand though they can also make you produce an inferior product to. Follow the directions of safelights is advisable so you can produce the best product possible and it will also let you see how important proper safelights are.
