Lighting & Meters

Lighting & meters are how photographers can determine what shutter speed they should use. This is usually used at studios or outdoor pictures. Most digital cameras will never use the lighting & meters as it's all built in and automatically does it for you. Digital camera light meters are available if you want to buy one as certain digital SLR cameras will find some uses for them. Probably one of the best uses for lighting and meters is in the home setting if you take alot of pictures. Nothing is more important indoors than the lighting. how many times have you taken a picture only to find it's to dark for your liking even after using a flash. This is why you may want to consider a light meter to measure it and get more light into your picture. Camera lighting has become less of an issue now with the digital camera. Almost everything is taken care of so all you have to do is snap the picture and be happy. In studios though the lighting & meters are very important as getting the proper lighting is crucial to getting the best picture possible. This is very true especially if your taking senior pictures outside. Shade and the sun can effect your picture so lighting & meters can come into play here also.

As more people gravitate to the digital cameras I think less lighting & meters will be used. Their will always be some use for it, but it will curtail alot in the next 10 to 15 years. Today's technology is so go that lighting is becoming a non factor when we take pictures. Everything is almost done for you even down to the point of adding light when we need it. Lighting & meters are probably going be something only done on rare occasions as people are realizing it's not needed with today's digital cameras. Hopefully in the future that will be exactly what happens, but I don't really know for sure. I have a good idea though we won't consider lighting as big as a factor as we once did. The future of lighting & meters don't look good, but like anything someone will have a use for it and I guess that can be a good thing as you never know when you may need it.
